One of the things we love most about Aljezur is how easy it is to enjoy good food here. From Casa Tarapoto you can simply walk down the streets and find some truly wonderful restaurants. No need for the car and honestly… we love that. The food is exceptional: local, seasonal and full of flavour. And with the sea so close, there’s always plenty of fresh seafood on the menu too.

Here are our family’s favourite spots: the ones we keep coming back to, where every meal feels relaxed, delicious and a little bit special.

Arte Bianca Pizzeria Aljezur

Várzea Bistro (Aljezur)

We go to Várzea for dinner, a lot! It’s our absolute favourite spot in town. Everything is seasonal, organic and beautifully prepared. We love taking their shared dining options. It’s such a lovely way to taste a bit of everything together. Every dish feels like it’s made with care and a bit of love.

The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the staff are genuinely wonderful, and yes, they even have a house cat who seems to greet everyone like an old friend. Closed on Tuesdays, but worth planning around; it’s that good really!

Arte Bianca Pizzeria (Aljezur)

When the kids ask for pizza, there’s only one answer: Arte Bianca. Their wood-fired pizzas are crispy, light and always delicious. All made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that make even the simplest margherita taste special.

We love the mix of people who come here: hikers, couples, families and groups of friends. It’s the kind of place where everyone feels at home, which is exactly why we keep coming back.

Pont’ a Pé (Aljezur)

Pont’ a Pé is our go-to for a relaxed drink in the village. It has such a cute little terrace; the kind of spot where you can sit for hours, watching people wander by and soaking up that slow Aljezur rhythm. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly with a great selection of Portuguese wines and a real local feel.

Also worth a visit

If you’re in the mood for something livelier, Moagem often has live music on Fridays, a great place to end the week with a glass in hand and a bit of dancing. And for seafood lovers, CAL in nearby Arrifana is perfect: ocean views, fresh fish and a more modern twist on classic Portuguese dishes. There’s also Praia da Arrifana with its own charming restaurant Bar da Praia da Arrifana right by the sand. This is the kind of spot where you can enjoy a long lunch while watching surfers and waves roll in. Perfect for a beach-day meal with a view.

Why We Love These Places

Simple as that: these are the spots that make Aljezur feel like home for us. Great food, easy walks from Casa Tarapoto and that relaxed village vibe we never get tired of. We hope you enjoy them just as much as we do!
